Silver Poly Tarps
Poly tarps are strips of laminated, loosely woven material, that resists stretching, and bonded to an exterior coating which gives it strength. Silver poly tarps, similar to a white tarp, reflect sun light, keeping the material cooler and promotes a longer life. They are mildew and rot resistant. Their ability to resist snow, rain and the sun puts them right up there with items you will want to take on camping trips. We've seen them used as temporary shelters on hot days, and even used as small boat sails. The most reflective of all the colors available, silver also makes a good backdrop cloth when you are cold and need to feel the rays bounce back off the tarp. It makes a great emergency basket item, as well, as it intensifies light that rebounds.
Silver poly tarps, like most heavy duty tarps, are exceptional in their utilization. For instance, when putting up holiday decorations on a roof where one would want to give the feeling of snow, securing a white one down will convey the idea, as well as being wind resistant (be sure to get a standard or heavy duty tarp if you reside in a windy area). Silver is a dynamite surface for a tree house roof, providing shelter from the sun, rain and falling twigs. Use a small, or folded, silver to place inside your parked vehicle windshield on a hot and sunny day to keep the rays from entering. You'll find the inside does not get as hot.
