Vinyl Tarps

What's the strongest type of tarp available on the market? When you need full protection for an extended period, vinyl tarps provide the most amount of coverage available. Vinyl tarps are ideal for various industrial applications. For example, vinyl benefits many trucks needing to carry a load over a long distance that cannot be exposed to moisture. In addition to a larger weave and thicker material, vinyl tarps are waterproof and flame retardant. Aside from use on trucks, this ultra heavy-duty material is used for many of the same purposes as polyethylene: protecting investments that need to stay outdoors for an extended period.

Certain truck loads need a significant amount of protection. When mesh or polyethylene does not provide enough strength or coverage, vinyl meets the need. Asphalt and wood, for example, are two materials that need additional coverage, as neither should be exposed to water or moisture. A vinyl tarp is applied to a truck manually or automatically. Like all tarps, it should be applied firmly enough that the material isn't too loose but not too tight, either. Vinyl may be strong, fire retardant, and waterproof, but wind whip will shorten the material's lifespan.

Vinyl tarps come in several options, no matter if you need to use them on a large or small scale. Like all tarps, they come in standard colors, including white, silver, green, and black. A translucent tarp is a common request for this type of material, however, and many manufacturers and distributors of such tarps carry vinyl in translucent and colored varieties.

All vinyl tarps are made with a 12 by 16 denier count and a 20 mil thickness. Additionally, the material also has a weight of 18 ounces. With this size and strength are flame retardant properties, in addition to the typical waterproof and UV-resistant qualities that all tarps have.
